Robert Dribbon is director of Health Care Strategy for Merck & Co., Inc., where he evaluates emerging health care trends and develops multi-stakeholder strategies and health care quality initiatives.

While at Merck, Robert has held various positions in marketing, sales, managed care and strategy.  His experience extends to many therapeutic areas as well as multiple health care segments, including primary care, subspecialty, health plan, federal/state, hospital, long-term care, pharmacy, employer and consumer.  Before joining Merck, Robert worked for a financial services division of Xerox.  Robert is a graduate of Rutgers University where he was a Henry Rutgers Scholar.

Duane Putnam, Co-Chair

Duane Putnam works within Pfizer’s National Employer Group where he partners with targeted business coalitions, organizations and associations to address issues related to health and productivity.  In 31 years with Pfizer, he has won eleven Vice President’s Management Council Awards for outstanding business performance and was inducted into Pfizer’s Hall of Fame in 2004.

Bruce Sherman, Co-Chair

Bruce Sherman, MD, FCCP, FACOEM, is the Corporate Medical Director for the Whirlpool Corporation.  Previously he was a consulting medical director, Global Services for The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. In this role, he supported the development of integrated, value-based health and productivity management strategies for the organization's associates and family members worldwide. He also serves as the director of health & productivity initiatives with the Employers Health Coalition of Ohio, where he brings health management strategies to member employer members, and provides strategic guidance for the coalition’s data warehouse program. Dr. Sherman has particular interests in the areas of evidence-based medical care and evaluation of quality and efficiency in health care delivery. 

Dr. Sherman is also a member of the leadership boards for the Integrated Benefits Institute, the Center for Health Value Innovation, and the Pharmacy Quality Alliance.  A speaker at both local and national levels, he has presented workforce health and productivity management strategies to diverse audiences, and has published numerous related articles. 

Dr. Sherman received his MD from New York University School of Medicine, his MA from Harvard University and his bachelor's degree from Brown University. He is board-certified in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine and critical care medicine. Dr. Sherman continues as a member of the clinical faculty in the Department of Medicine at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.

Helen Darling, Co-Vice Chair

Helen Darling is president of the National Business Group on Health, a national non-profit, membership organization devoted exclusively to providing practical solutions to its employer-members' most important health care problems and representing large employers' perspective on national health policy issues.  Its more than 282 members, including 60 of the Fortune 100 in 2008, purchase health and disability benefits for over 55 million employees, retirees and dependents. 

Darling was the 2009 recipient of the WorldatWork’s prestigious Keystone Award, its highest honor in recognition of sustained contributions to the field of Human Resources and Benefits. She serves on: the Committee on Performance Measurement of the National Committee for Quality Assurance (co-chair for 10 years); the Medical Advisory Panel, Technology Evaluation Center, (Blue Cross Blue Shield Association); the Institute of Medicine’s Roundtable on Evidence-Based Medicine; the Board of the National Quality Forum; Medicare Coverage Advisory Committee; the Governance Committee of Care Focused Purchasing; and the Board of the Congressionally-created Reagan-Udall Foundation. 

 

Andrew Webber, Co-Vice Chair

Andrew Webber is president and CEO of the National Business Coalition on Health (NBCH), a non-profit, membership organization of nearly 60 employer-based health care coalitions, representing more than 7,000 employers and approximately 25 million employees and their dependents across the U.S. NBCH is dedicated to improving health and transforming health care, community by community.  Webber is responsible for overseeing all association activities including value-based purchasing programs, government and external relations, educational programs, member communications and technical assistance, and research and evaluation. 

Webber currently sits on the board of directors for the National Quality Forum, The Leapfrog Group, Bridges to Excellence, PROMETHEUS Payment, Inc. and the Patient-Centered Primary Care Collaborative.  He is a principal of the Hospital Quality Alliance.

Prior to joining NBCH, Webber was a vice president for external relations and public policy at the National Committee for Quality Assurance.  Previous positions also include senior associate for the Consumer Coalition for Quality Health Care and executive vice president for the American Medical Peer Review Association (currently renamed the American Health Quality Association).  Webber started his health policy career in 1978 as an employee of the Washington Business Group on Health (currently renamed the National Business Group on Health), rising to the position of vice president for public policy.
Webber is a frequent speaker and lecturer on health policy issues.  He is a graduate of Harvard University.
